The city provides a challenging context for interaction design. Urban Interaction explores the design processes involved, the designs and interfaces, and the life and use that plays out in urban space.
Interactive tables include multi-touch surfaces and tabletops with tangible interaction. Since 2010, CAVI has also been exploring 3D tabletops, which are based on a combination of 3D projection and a multi-touch screen.
CAVI’s research into design process includes research into specific design methods, ideation, and theories and frameworks for investigating design processes.
Using media facades as a subcategory of urban computing, CAVI’s research focus revolves around coming to grips with sense-making and social interaction as parts of identifying key characteristics of interactions with media facades in an urban setting.
The Child-Computer Interaction group at CAVI produces high quality research and interactive prototypes in the areas surrounding the design and evaluation of interactive technologies for children.
TEKNE Production is a digital art- and experience-producing unit at the Centre of Advanced Visualization and Interaction (CAVI). TEKNE Production is commissioned by the Danish Ministry of Culture to create best–practice-based digital art and experiences at a national level.
