On September 12, 2024, the Greenhouses in the Botanical Garden, Aarhus, celebrate their 10th anniversary, marking a decade with over 2 million visitors, solidifying their place as a beloved attraction and center for plant education.
CAVI’s Sound-O-Matic Installation: A Decade of Interactive Soundscapes
Since the Greenhouses' opening, CAVI (the Centre for Advanced Visualization and Interaction) at Aarhus University has been part of the Greenhouses’ journey with the Sound-O-Matic installation, that has allowed visitors to engage with nature through soundscapes that mimic the natural world. As guests explore the Greenhouses' sceneries, their movements trigger natural sounds, providing an immersive experience.
CAVI’s Sound-O-Matic has been a feature of the Greenhouses for 10 years, enhancing the visitor experience of nature. The installation continues to be an innovative example of how digital tools can amplify experiences in a natural setting.
