Airport Poem was an opera experiment based on a number of songs specially written for the FIGURA opera ensemble. The idea, based on these songs, was to create a kind of “airport” situation for both actors and audience. Supported by the staging, the piece invited the musicians, singers, and audience to move among each other while 3D stereo projections appeared on physical objects. The project went through a number of idea developments, experiments, and studies. It revealed a number of interesting possibilities and challenges, especially in the field of using stereoscopic projections in a stage performance.
