’STILL (for) PEACE’ gets Danish Arts Foundation award

The art exhibition ’STILL (for) PEACE’ by Elle-Mie Ejdrup Hansen including the audio installation, ’Shitstorm no. 1’, has been awarded as ’particularly successful’.

The Danish Arts Foundation (https://www.kunst.dk/english/ or, in Danish, https://www.kunst.dk/aarets-bedste-udstillinger) has awarded Elle-Mie Ejdrup Hansen with 50.000 kr. for the recent exhibition ’STILL (for) PEACE’ at Viborg Kunsthal.

The exhibition, ’STILL (for) PEACE’, presented the story of how a laser beam for peace in 1995 turned into a very controversial and political event. On this basis, Elle-Mie Ejdrup Hansen has done a comprehensive research going over her own archives as well as the Danish National Archives and the archives of the Ministry of the State of Denmark to create this exhibition, that in a poetic manner focused on the diverse structures and levels of power - who has the right to tell the Story of History?

’STILL (for) PEACE’ included the new audio installation, ’Shitstorm no. 1’; a work by composer Marie Koldkjær Højlund in collaboration with audio designer Asger Bruun Hansen, Ph.d. student Anne-Sofie Udsen Jørgensen, and CAVI, Aarhus University. ’Shitstorm no. 1’ utilised CAVI's 3D audio engine, ’Sound-O-Matic’, to generate an immersive, spatial, and cacophonic experience from statements read aloud from the polemical debate about the 1995 exhibition project, ’PEACE SCULPTURE’.
