Skybox

Skybox was a piece created by the artist, Søren Lyngsø Knudsen. The visual aspect of Skybox transformed music into 3D-controlled points to generate dynamic shapes and colors. Skybox could be regarded as an abstract painting that used sound and 3D graphics, and suggested new perspectives for the coherence between music and dynamic graphics. Skybox was presented at the 3D cinema at CAVI.

Søren Lyngsø Knudsen is an electronic music composer, and under the pseudonym of “Vectral” he explores the connection between electronic compositions and audio-reactive visuals, with the intent of challenging the virtual gap between sound and image. His pieces let the controlled meet the chaotic in a strong, expressive, and challenging complexity. The music consists of electronically adapted material – some synthetic sounds, as well as sampled sounds taken from various sources, such as found objects and everyday recordings.
