Interactive Terracotta Warrior

For the special exhibition at Moesgaard Museum - "The First Emperor - China's Terracotta Army" - CAVI has created an interactive installation allowing people to colour a terracotta general.

Terracotta Warrior at Moesgaard Museum

To illustrate the fact that the terracotta warriors of emperor Qin Shi Huangdi’s tomb were all painted, CAVI in collaboration with Moesgaard Museum has made an interactive part of the temporary exhibition, “The First Emperor – China’s Terracotta Army”, that runs April 1 - September 30, 2015.

Visitors are able to choose between different colours similar to the colours originally used on the real terracotta statues and to colour certain areas of a terracotta general replica - a replica of the original general statue also displayed at the exhibition. Very accurate 3D-projection makes the colouring of the general replica possible.

At the end of the interactive sequence, the visitor is given the opportunity to leave a personal trace at the exhibition by letting the just coloured version of the general be a part of an army of generals projected as a backdrop for the replica statue.
