On Saturday May 2, representatives from a team in the City of Austin, Texas, met with CAVI to have a closer look at our artistic and cultural projects, and to get introduced to CAVI’s practices and Aarhus University’s smart city platform AU Smart Cities, and the regional partnership initiative Smart Aarhus, where digital culture plays a central role.

As cities are increasingly looking to integrate digital culture and experiences into both the physical city and into cities' development strategies, it becomes crucial to exchange knowledge and inspiration about how to manage this. The Media Architecture Biennale 2014 in Aarhus and Copenhagen focuses on exactly this, bringing cultural producers and city planners from alle over the world together in November.

SXSW is an annual music, film, and interactive conference and festival held in Austin, Texas. Their visit at CAVI was part of the Spot Interactive Festival and connected to the The House of Songs songwriter exchange program, which is an initiative to support artist collaboration and residencies with strong ties to Denmark.
